Hifz ul Quran means committing the entire Holy Quran to memory — all 30 Juz, 114 Surahs, and 6,236 verses — preserved in the heart. The word Hafiz comes from the Arabic root meaning "to protect and guard." A Hafiz becomes a living guardian of the word of Allah ﷻ, carrying the entire revelation within them for the rest of their life.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it." (Bukhari). Hifz is the highest expression of that learning — and Allah "Recite the Quran with measured recitation" (73:4). Scholars of all four major Islamic schools of jurisprudence (madhabs) have ruled that observing basic Tajweed rules in recitation is Fard Ayn — individually obligatory upon every Muslim. Reciting without Tajweed can inadvertently alter the meaning of Allah's words.
Without a qualified teacher providing real-time oral correction, it is virtually impossible to master Tajweed from books or videos alone. The tongue learns through listening and being corrected — which is precisely why our online Tajweed class uses 1-on-1 live sessions where the teacher hears every word you recite and corrects instantly. Once Tajweed is established, many students advance to our Quran Translation course to understand the meaning of every verse they recite.
COMPLETE TAJWEED SYLLABUS
Tajweed Assessment & Correction
Before memorization begins, the teacher ensures the student's recitation is Tajweed-accurate — because Hifz locks in whatever the student recites
Sabaq — Daily New Lesson
Memorizing fresh verses each session — quantity tailored to student's age, ability, and available time
Sabaqi — Recent Revision
Daily revision of the last 7 days' memorized portions — consolidating short-term memory into long-term retention
Manzil — Old Revision
Regular revision of all previously memorized Juz — ensuring nothing already memorized is lost
Milestone Testing
After completing each Juz, the student is tested on the full Juz to confirm strength before proceeding
Dour — Full Quran Revision
In the final phase, the complete Quran is revised in full — preparing the student for the lifetime habit of maintaining their Hifz
Programme Completion
Final full recitation before the teacher — a momentous milestone, celebrated with a certificate of completion from Kanzulilm International
Outcomes
Master every Arabic letter from its precise articulation point — including sounds that do not exist in English such as ع، ح، خ، ق، غ، ص، ض، ط، ظ. These distinctions change meaning in the Quran.
Our Sabaq-Sabaqi-Manzil system, combined with lifetime revision habits, ensures the student retains their Hifz permanently — not just during the programme but for decades to come.
Every verse memorized is recited with full Tajweed — correct pronunciation, elongation, and rhythm. The teacher corrects every error before it can be committed to memory.
Know exactly where to stop and where to continue in Quranic recitation. Stopping in the wrong place can completely reverse the meaning of a verse — Waqf knowledge protects your recitation from this serious error.
Develop a measured, beautiful Tarteel style of recitation — the style Allah commands in the Quran. Your Salah, Taraweeh, and personal Quran recitation will be transformed at a level that moves hearts.
The ultimate sign of Tajweed mastery — when you can hear your own errors and correct them without a teacher. Our course trains this meta-skill so you continue improving long after formal classes end.

Eligibility
Children who can read Quran with basic Tajweed. Starting Hifz young is the most powerful gift a parent can give — memory is sharpest in childhood.
Teenagers who can read Quran fluently. With the right teacher and structure, teens can complete full Hifz within 2 to 3 years alongside school.
Adults with sincere intention and consistent time. Many adults complete full Hifz in 3 to 5 years. Our scholars adapt the pace to suit working adults and parents.
Those who memorized Juz Amma or more in childhood but never completed. We pick up exactly where you left off and guide you to complete the remaining Juz.
Why It Matters
These are the four biggest reasons students struggle with Hifz — and exactly how our 1-on-1 structured programme addresses each one.
Students who memorize without Tajweed lock errors into memory permanently. Correcting pronunciation after memorization is far harder than getting it right from the start — our programme ensures Tajweed accuracy before every verse is committed to memory.
Most students memorize new verses daily but neglect revision — and previously memorized Juz are forgotten. Our Sabaq-Sabaqi-Manzil system builds structured daily revision into every single lesson so that nothing memorized is ever lost.
Hifz requires daily consistency. Students who miss sessions fall behind and lose previously memorized portions. Our teacher tracks every student's schedule, follows up proactively, and reschedules missed sessions to maintain momentum.
Hifz is a years-long journey. Without a teacher who monitors progress and provides encouragement, most students give up within months. Our 1-on-1 relationship with each student provides the accountability and personal encouragement needed to complete the full Quran.

Quranic remedies for spiritual & emotional wellbeing
The decision to enroll in an online Hifz programme is one of the most significant a Muslim family will ever make. Hifz ul Quran is not merely an academic achievement — it is a lifelong spiritual identity. A Hafiz becomes a living guardian of the word of Allah ﷻ, and that status carries honour in this world and tremendous reward in the next. At Kanzulilm International, we have guided families through this sacred journey since 2009 — one student at a time, one verse at a time.
Our online Hifz course is not a pre-recorded programme or an app. It is a living 1-on-1 relationship between a certified Hafiz and a dedicated student — conducted live via WhatsApp — where every verse is memorized correctly, every revision is supervised, and every milestone is celebrated. This is how Hifz has always been transmitted: teacher to student, heart to heart, generation to generation.
There is no shortage of online Hifz classes today. But most are group classes where a single teacher manages ten or twenty students simultaneously — and individual errors go uncorrected for weeks. At Kanzulilm, every student has their own teacher, their own lesson, and their own revision schedule.
In a 1-on-1 live session, the teacher hears every verse the student recites, corrects every Tajweed error before it can be memorized, and monitors every stage of retention. This level of attention is simply not possible in a group setting — and it is the single most important factor in producing Hifz that is strong, accurate, and permanent.
Whether you are a parent seeking the best possible Hifz education for your child, an adult who has long dreamed of becoming a Hafiz, or a student who started Hifz years ago and wants to complete it — this programme is designed around you.
Our programme uses the classical three-tier revision system that has produced Huffaz across the Islamic world for over a thousand years — structured, proven, and adapted to each student's pace.
Sabaq (New Lesson) — fresh verses memorized each session, quantity tailored to student's age and ability
Sabaqi (Recent Revision) — last 7 days' memorized verses reviewed every session, converting short-term to long-term memory
Manzil (Old Revision) — all previously memorized Juz revised regularly, ensuring nothing is ever forgotten
Tajweed Correction — every verse memorized with correct pronunciation from the first repetition
Milestone Testing — formal test after each Juz to confirm strength before proceeding
Dour (Final Revision) — complete 30-Juz revision before the teacher in the programme's final phase
Completion Certificate — issued by Kanzulilm International on successful completion of the full Quran
Lifetime Revision Guidance — post-completion advice on maintaining Hifz for life
For Muslim families in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia, finding a qualified Hifz teacher nearby is genuinely difficult. Many areas have no traditional madrasa, or the available options involve group classes of 15 to 20 students where individual attention is impossible. Online 1-on-1 Hifz with Kanzulilm solves this completely.
Sessions are conducted live via WhatsApp — no apps to install, no platforms to learn. Morning before school in London, afternoon in New York, evening in Toronto or Sydney — the programme fits around your family's schedule, not the other way around. Our teacher hears every verse in real time and provides the same level of correction you would expect in a traditional madrasa setting.
Our students have completed full Hifz entirely online, from Juz Amma to the final Juz of Surah An-Nas — and received their certificates at home, surrounded by their families. This is the future of Islamic education, and it is already working.
Is online Hifz as effective as in-person madrasa?
For 1-on-1 instruction, online Hifz is frequently more effective than group madrasa — because the teacher's undivided attention is on one student for the entire lesson. In a group madrasa with 15 students, each student receives on average 2 to 3 minutes of individual time. In a Kanzulilm session, every minute of every lesson is dedicated to you.
How many sessions per week are needed for Hifz?
We recommend a minimum of 5 sessions per week for children and 3 to 5 sessions per week for adults. Daily consistency is the single most important factor in successful Hifz. Sessions are 30 to 45 minutes and can be scheduled morning, afternoon, or evening across any time zone.
My child knows Juz Amma — can they join at that point?
Yes. Students who have already memorized portions of the Quran join at their current level. The teacher will first test the existing Hifz for strength and Tajweed accuracy, make any necessary corrections, and then proceed from there. Partial Huffaz are very welcome in our programme.
What happens if my child misses a session?
Missed sessions can be rescheduled at any time. Our teacher tracks each student's progress and proactively reaches out if a session is missed. Maintaining the Sabaq-Sabaqi-Manzil rhythm is critical — and we make every effort to ensure continuity even when life gets in the way.
Why choose Kanzulilm over other online Hifz programmes?
Three reasons families consistently cite: the scholarly authority of Mufti Syed Muhammad Usman Bukhari and his certified team, the uncompromising 1-on-1 format that gives every student complete individual attention, and the simplicity of WhatsApp-based learning that requires no special technology. Our students have been completing Hifz with us since 2009 — across the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and beyond.
The Quran is waiting to be guarded in your heart — or in your child's. If you are ready to begin an online Hifz programme under certified scholarly supervision, with a free trial session and no long-term commitment required to start, the WhatsApp button on this page will connect you directly to our admissions team.
